Samuel G. Robson is a postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Psychology at The University of New South Wales. Robson's research interests span visual expertise, reasoning processes, and belief formation, with particular focus on how individuals evaluate implausible and epistemically suspect claims, conspiracy theories, and misinformation. Robson's work combines cognitive psychology with empirical methods such as content analysis and perceptual expertise training to understand the mechanisms underlying both accurate judgment and susceptibility to false beliefs. Recent contributions include development of assessment tools such as the Foundations of Knowledge Questionnaire and investigations into the relationship between expertise, attention, and reasoning about contentious information.
