Li Qian Tay

Li Qian Tay is a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Medicine and Psychology at the Australian National University and holds an affiliation with the School of Psychological Science at the University of Western Australia. Tay received a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) from the same institution's School of Psychological Science. Tay's research focuses on misinformation and its societal impacts, with particular interests in causal inference, conspiracy theories, fake news, and the evaluation of interventions designed to combat false information. Tay's published work examines prebunking and debunking strategies, the effectiveness of refutations in reducing misinformation sharing, and methodological approaches to understanding how people evaluate and respond to misleading claims.
