Julio Rodriguez-Larios is a Lecturer in Psychology at Brunel University London, a position held since 2023, and is also affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University and the Division of Systems Neuroscience at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Rodriguez-Larios studies neural oscillations using EEG, with research spanning working memory, attention, and the neural dynamics underlying meditation and mind wandering. Much of this work examines cross-frequency interactions, including theta-alpha and theta-gamma coupling, as well as the functional roles of alpha and beta rhythms in cognitive processes. Additional projects have investigated how mindfulness training affects oscillatory brain activity and how EEG signals can be used to detect attentional states during meditation practice.
