Oisín Ryan

Oisín Ryan is an Assistant Professor in Data Science and Biostatistics at the Julius Centre, University Medical Centre Utrecht, a position held since 2023. Before that, Ryan completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Methodology and Statistics at Utrecht University. Research interests span causal inference, dynamical systems modeling, and the analysis of intensive longitudinal data, with particular attention to how cross-sectional and time-series data can be connected to underlying causal structures. Recent work addresses cyclic causal discovery, directed cyclic graphs, and the application of these methods to psychological research, including the modeling of psychopathology and emotion dynamics.
