Valentin Mang is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Behavioural Research Unit at the Economic and Social Research Institute, a position held since 2026, and was previously affiliated with the University of Groningen from 2021 to 2025. Mang's research addresses misinformation, conspiracy beliefs, and persuasion, with work examining how source credibility, source trustworthiness, and source expertise shape responses to false or misleading information. Additional published work investigates the conditions under which exposure to conspiracy theories affects behavioural intentions, including the role of individual differences such as the need to evaluate, as well as lay attributions of conspiracy belief and their relationship to correction intentions.
