Quassim Cassam

Quassim Cassam is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Warwick, a position held since 2009. Cassam studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, going on to complete a B.Phil. and D.Phil. in Philosophy there, and subsequently held positions at Oxford, University College London, and the University of Cambridge before moving to Warwick. Research spans epistemology, self-knowledge, and the philosophy of mind, with books and articles addressing topics such as the possibility of knowledge, vice epistemology, and epistemic self-audit. More recently, Cassam has worked on the philosophy of extremism and radicalization, including the epistemic dimensions of vaccine hesitancy and the question of whether extremism requires ideological commitment.
