Fanny Lalot is a senior researcher and SNSF Ambizione group leader in the Centre for Social Psychology at the University of Basel, where Lalot holds the position of Research Associate in the Faculty of Psychology. Lalot received a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Geneva in 2019 and was awarded Habilitation and Venia Docendi from the University of Basel in 2024, following prior postdoctoral positions at the University of Kent and a visiting scholarship at New York University. Lalot's research spans social psychology broadly, with particular focus on moral behavior, trust and cooperation, prosocial actions, environmental behavior, political trust, collective action, and attitude and behavior change. Lalot's published work addresses topics including the relationship between political trust and volunteering, the psychology of trust repair, vaccine hesitancy during crisis, cross-cultural dimensions of moral judgment, and the role of futures consciousness in engagement with social and environmental issues.
