David L. Sam is a professor in the Department of Psychosocial Science at the University of Bergen, where he received his PhD from the HEMIL-senteret in 1995. Sam's research addresses acculturation, integration, and discrimination, with work that extends to developmental questions and Indigenous populations. Recent publications include meta-analytic work on the integration hypothesis using data from the International Comparative Study of Ethnocultural Youth, as well as studies on the psychological and neurocognitive effects of sickle cell disease on children and caregivers in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
