David L. Sam

David L. Sam is a Professor in the Department of Psychosocial Science at the University of Bergen, where Sam received a PhD from the HEMIL-senteret in 1995. Sam's research addresses acculturation, including the conditions under which integration occurs and how discrimination shapes the experiences of people navigating cultural transitions. Additional work engages with developmental questions and Indigenous populations, as well as collaborative clinical research on the psychological and neurocognitive burden of sickle cell disease in children in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
