Clara Pretus

Clara Pretus is a researcher at the Department of Psychobiology and Methodology of Health Sciences at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Hospital del Mar Research Institute in Barcelona, Spain. Pretus's research integrates cognitive neuroscience, social psychology, and computational approaches to examine moral decision-making, intergroup dynamics, and the spread of misinformation in polarized contexts. Recent work by Pretus investigates how social identity shapes belief formation and partisan attitudes, with particular attention to interventions designed to reduce polarization and combat the dissemination of false information through crowdsourcing and social media platforms. Pretus also explores the neural mechanisms underlying moral cognition, sacred values, and vulnerability to extremism, alongside applications of artificial intelligence to model moral reasoning and relational aspects of agent behavior.
