Cian O’Mahony

Cian O'Mahony is a researcher at the School of Applied Psychology, University College Cork, with expertise in psychological responses to misinformation and conspiracy theories. O'Mahony completed a BA in Applied Psychology at University College Cork in 2018 and subsequently earned an MSc in Neuropsychology from the Department of Experimental Psychology at Utrecht University. O'Mahony's research interests encompass conspiracy theories, misinformation, critical appraisal, discernment, inoculation strategies, and psychological interventions designed to counter false beliefs and improve reasoning about contested information.
