Anouck Cochez is a researcher at the Center for Social and Cultural Psychology at KU Leuven. Cochez works on questions of emotional acculturation, school adjustment, and the experiences of immigrant minority youth in discriminatory contexts. This research examines how the adoption of host-culture emotional norms relates to academic and social outcomes for young people navigating cross-cultural environments, including the conditions under which such acculturation can produce paradoxical effects. Cochez has also addressed the relationship between social-emotional learning and cultural context.
