Aleksandar Tomašević

Aleksandar Tomašević is a Research Associate at the Scientific Computing Laboratory, Institute of Physics Belgrade, and previously served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Novi Sad from 2020 to 2025. Tomašević works across computational social science, psychometric network analysis, and affective dynamics, with publications addressing topics that range from adolescent well-being and identity to the emotional behavior of political leaders and the sustainability of online communities. Additional work applies machine learning and transformer-based natural language processing to the analysis of text and video, including the development of the transforEmotion R package for open-source emotion analysis. Tomašević has also contributed to cross-national studies of measurement invariance, dark personality traits, and the dynamics of trust in knowledge-sharing platforms.
