Shauna M. Bowes is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a position held since 2025 following a postdoctoral fellowship in Psychology and Human Development at Vanderbilt University. Bowes completed both a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Psychology at Emory University, graduating with the doctorate in 2023. Much of Bowes's published work centers on intellectual humility, including its relationships to political polarization, misinformation receptivity, conspiracy beliefs, and epistemic overconfidence, and Bowes has also conducted research on authoritarianism, psychopathy, and the application of meta-analytic methods to personality and social psychology questions.
