Denny Borsboom

Denny Borsboom is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, where he has been based since 1998. Borsboom works on the measurement and structure of psychological constructs, with particular attention to network approaches to psychopathology, psychometrics, and the philosophy of psychology. Much of this research involves developing and evaluating statistical models, including graphical models such as the Gaussian graphical model and the Ising model, for representing symptom relationships in mental disorders and for connecting network models to classical latent variable frameworks. Borsboom has also written on reductionism in psychiatry, attitude structure, and the theoretical foundations of psychological measurement.
