Chiu Yu-Chin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University, a position held since 2018. Chiu completed a PhD in Psychological and Brain Sciences at Johns Hopkins University in 2010 and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at Duke University from 2013 to 2018. Chiu's research addresses cognitive control, task switching, and the flexibility-stability tradeoff, with additional work on metacontrol, working memory, and the neural mechanisms that support shifts in attention. Publications also extend to applied topics, including cognitive performance among nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic and attention to construction signage.
