Cécile Rousseau

Cécile Rousseau is a researcher at McGill University whose work focuses on mental health and its intersections with migration, refugee youth, and violent extremism. Rousseau has examined access to and acceptability of mental health care for refugee populations, including young Afghan refugees, as well as the psychological dimensions of radicalization and nihilistic violence. Other work addresses conspiracy theories and psychological distress among young adults, ideological hybridization, and development trajectories in adolescence. Rousseau has also contributed to applied policy contexts, including the development of a Quebec model for mental health intervention in cases of violent radicalization.
