advances.in\/psychology <\/strong>(ISSN 2976-937X) is a unique peer-reviewed journal that values the contributions of editors and reviewers by compensating them for their work, while also promoting open access to research for wider accessibility. To sustain this publishing model, we request authors to pay an article processing charge of $1950 upon acceptance of their manuscript as a research article, review, research report, or dataset report. For commentaries, the article processing charge is $450. As an author, you retain the copyright of your work, while granting us the non-exclusive right to publish it under the CC-by open access license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast to many other journals, by paying the article processing charge, you not only contribute to open science but also help support your academic community by financially compensating your colleagues, including yourself, for their valuable editing and reviewing work. Rather than supporting the profits of large corporations, you contribute to promoting equitable, inclusive, and fair publishing norms, serving as an inspiration for other publishers to adopt similar practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waiver Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We understand that some authors may face financial constraints. We therefore offer discounts and full waivers on article processing charges. To be eligible, the corresponding author must be able to demonstrate at least one of the following: (1) their institution or research project lacks sufficient funding to cover publication costs, or (2) they are based in a country with recognized economic challenges (typically low- or lower-middle-income economies as classified by the World Bank). Authors who believe they meet these criteria are encouraged to contact us via this form<\/a> before submitting their manuscript<\/strong>, briefly explaining their situation. Waiver and discount decisions are made independently of editorial decisions \u2014 waiver status has no influence on whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected. Waiver and discount decisions are made on an individual basis, taking into account both the author’s circumstances and the journal’s available financial resources at the time of the request. As our financial resources expand, we aim to provide waivers to qualified scholars on a more regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
